Assertive Outreach and engagement
The pupils we work with have complex and challenging needs, and have often experienced difficulties in mainstream settings. This can manifest itself in negative behaviours leading to exclusion and long term disengagement with education.
It is our responsibility to encourage and support those pupils back into school so they can achieve. To this end we operate an Assertive Outreach service which is mobile – working within the community – and supported by qualified Teaching staff to promote positive engagement in learning, to support academic progress, and to develop pupils’ life skills and positive behaviour outside of the school environment in preparation for return to school.
Schools, Alternative Providers and other education establishments that wish to re-engage pupils that are school refusers, or that are at risk of exclusion can commission this service if required.
